This solid oak bar stool is made from 100% authentic Irish whiskey barrel. By using only oak barrels this bench is very sturdy, solid and eco-friendly. The whiskey barrel used particularly for this stool was previously used by Jim Beam and later by the Dingle Distillery to age their Irish whiskey. This practical bar stool not only adds a character to your home it also gives off a subtle sweet aroma of the whiskey.

Light or Dark

The dark version is a direct representation of the whiskey barrel. It's staves are charred on one side (inside of the barrel is burnt to add colour and flavour to the whiskey) and have a beautiful patina on the other side of the staves (outside of the barrel).

The light coloured version is what's underneath the charr and patina. The staves are individually scraped and brushed and sanded and sanded and then sanded a bit more to get to the warm natural looking wood.

Workmanship

Featuring a curved seat and smooth edges without burrs or sharp corners, the rustic bar stools allow you to sit comfortably and securely. In addition, there are 2 footrests under the stool so that you can place your feet in the most comfortable position. The bench is screwed and glued with no visible screws. The screws are covered by dowels for a seamless look.

Indoors / Outdoors

All items are primarily made to be used indoors and are finished with an indoor oil / wax. They can be used on your patio as long as they are100%  sheltered from rain and damp. If you wish to use them outdoors please get in touch. We can make the exact same piece with a finish suitable for outdoor use. No extra charge.
